The Peace Negotiating Committee
of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan briefed members of the
Meshrano Jirga on the Doha peace talks and their following decisions.

Initially, Fazl Hadi Muslim Yar,
Speaker of the Meshrano Jirga, welcomed the delegation's return to the country
and their presence in the Senate, and appreciated the efforts and hard work of
the delegation during the three months in Qatar.

Then, Mohammad Masoum Stanekzai,
the head of the negotiating team, shared detailed information with the senators
about the progress has been made in the peace negotiation process, challenges
in the field and the agenda of the second phase of peace talks. He said that
the plans and views of the members of the Senate are very important and
valuable for them in the peace process and talks.

Then, Fazl Hadi Muslim Yar, on behalf of the members of the Senate,
praised the unity of opinion, patience and persistence of the government
delegation, and by Presenting a series of views of the Senate said that the
upper house explicitly supports peace talks on the republican system and the
achievements of the past two decades, including the role of the armed forces,
freedom of expression and women's rights, and added that the Senate has always
strongly supported peace talks and the negotiating team, and expects that in
the second phase of the peace talks, both sides will reach a permanent
ceasefire, which is the main and fundamental demand of the citizens.
