Mohammad Alam Ezd Yar, the first deputy of the Senate, met with the parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in his office.


During the first meeting, Mr. Azari, Member of Parliament and head of the delegation, presented greetings of Dr. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, to the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate and expressed hope that the peace talks between the GoIRA and the Taliban would be successful and peace sustains in Afghanistan.


The parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while emphasizing the exchange of experiences in the field of legislation, said that their country is willing to invest in the energy, trade, tourism and oil sectors in Afghanistan. Mr. Azari also addressed the situation of Afghan refugees in the country, saying that thousands of Afghan students are currently studying in Iran, and assured that the Islamic Consultative Assembly would follow up on some cases of violence against refugees reflected in the media.


Then, Mohammad Alam Ezd Yar, the first deputy speaker of the upper house, emphasized on strengthening and developing relations, especially parliamentary relations, and added that the role of the countries in the region in the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking is effective and requires a serious and joint fight in this regard. Thus, the Deputy of the Senate expressed the hope that with the construction of the railway, trade, tourism and other issues will be developed between the two countries. Izad Yar lamented some of the mistreatment of Afghan refugees in Iran, and called on the delegation to cooperate seriously in the education of refugees and voluntary return of Afghan refugees.
