In the plenary session of the Meshrano Jirga on Tuesday, led by Muhammad Alam Ezadyar first deputy speaker of the House, a discussion happened on the current situation of the country.


At the session, senators commemorated the third anniversary of the martyrdom of Mohammad Salem Ezadyar and other martyrs of justice seeker in Jawza 1396, and expressed their condolences to the families of the martyrs and criticized the failure to follow up on this important issue, and emphasizes were to punish the perpetrators of the incident under the law to ensure justice. Some senators while welcoming the recent political agreement in the country, called on President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council, to select individuals in the cabinet and other government organs by considering the competence, merits, and abilities of individuals and consider the rights of minorities living in the country. The senators considered peace as a serious need for citizens, stressing that the dialogue between Afghans should begin as soon as possible so that lasting peace can be established in the country.

 Furthermore, the senators expressed concerns over the security situation deterioration, the crime rate in Kabul city, and the lack of security on public highways. It was said that the Taliban receive a lot of money from the highways and cause a lot of disturbance for passengers, especially government employees, which must be prevented. The senators also stressed that the Ministry of National Defense should take special measures to ensure the legal leave of those assigned to the ministry and their safe transfer from office to their homes.

Members of the House welcomed the EU's declaration that the EU's financial and political aid to Afghanistan was conditional on the preservation of the republican system and the achievements of the last 19 years. The added that the Prisoners of the Taliban group were said to be released by the government without any guarantees, and the Taliban group must reduce violence and comply with the ceasefire due to the good intentions of the government


 Criticism on the attack on the house of Muslim Shirzad, one of the country's media activists, and emphasis on the seriousness of the case, criticism on the Ministry of Finance for failing to include Senate members' proposals in the national budget, and emphasizing of the effectiveness of Greek medicine in some diseases, demand from the Civil Aviation Authority to facilitate domestic flights and other issues were raised in the session

In summing up part of the session, first deputy speaker of the House expressed his condolence with the Speaker of the House for the death of his mother and commemorated the third anniversary of the martyrdom of Mohammad Salem Ezadyar  and his followers and said that the families of the martyrs had different options against the perpetrators of the martyrdom of these young people from the beginning of these events, but considering the unity of the Afghan people, they complied with the law that the country's judiciary must ensure fair decision-making to restore public confidence in this important institution. The first deputy speaker also noted the negative consequences of the corona-virus, citing the serious complaints of the people about the lack of transparency in internal and external aid. He also stressed that the government should provide the necessary facilities to the special centers of COVID-19 and that the people should strictly follow the health guidelines.

Moreover, he discussed the people's complaints about increased insecurity in the county and expressed hope that the security strategy and management of the security agencies would be reconsidered. He added that as long as the countries of the region and the United States do not have the sincere and political will to improve the current situation in Afghanistan; unfortunately, this situation will continue because it is seen that they are pursuing their interests in any way.


Also, discussion the recent political agreement in the country, the first deputy speaker of the senate said: "Although the Senate had some considerations in this regard, it supported and approved it in a statement, but this does not mean that both parties are engaged in team divisions without respecting the people's rights." Because it seems that recent appointments are political and not supported by the people,   it is necessary to give preference to meritocracy so that after this a responsible government can be created with adequacy and out of corruption. He expressed his deep regret on the martyrdom of civilians during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations in the Kalfgan district of Takhar province; and called on the government to arrest and prosecutes the perpetrators of this unforgivable crime, and to decisively stop irresponsible armed individuals.
