In the plenary session of the Meshrano Jirga led by Muhammad Alam Ezadyar deputy speaker of the House, discussions were on the current situation of the country. 


At today's session, members of the House have cited the US Secretary of State's yesterday visit to Kabul and discussed cut of one billion dollars’ assistance to Afghanistan and said These economic pressures will harm the citizens, requiring the United States to reconsider this decision, adding that existing political disputes should be resolved through a political reconciliation and the politicians should consider the national interest.

Senators repeatedly discussed the negative effects of the Coronavirus on the community and the ongoing struggle against it, urging citizens to follow the guidelines of the responsible institutions. Also, they expressed concerns about contradictory comments made by the Ministry of Public Health and one of the President's advisers on how to deal with coronavirus in Herat province and said that this should not be a political issue but that everyone should work together to fight the Coronavirus. 

Moreover, it is said that The Taliban have taken advantage of peace talks with the United States over the past few months to reduce violence in their favor, and seized the opportunity to launch military operations in various parts of the country against armed forces and martyring dozens of them. The Senators added that the defense and security sector must come out of active defense into attack position and destroy the enemy's positions and clean up the areas they are occupying.

Furthermore, some senators said the first group of peace talks by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was made via video conference with Taliban members, which is a good move and said that we hope that the Intra- Afghan dialogue will continue because the continuation of the war and the violence is not in the country's interest.


 Moreover, emphasis on citizens for planting trees, criticizing the disappearance of some radar equipment in Uruzgan province, criticizing the assassination Mawlavi Noor Padshah Imad on the country’s scholar, condoling the death of former Nuristan provincial governor, discussing the failed attempt to kill the mayor of Maidan Wardak province. The protest of the North Coal Enterprise workers and some other issues raised in today's session. 

In summing up part of the session, Muhammad Alam Ezadyar said that the Coronavirus is a global threat, saying lack of coordination with the government is unfortunate, adding that dealing with the virus is one of the responsibilities of the Ministry of Public Health and that citizens must follow proper guidelines. Also while referring to a $ 1 billion conditional cut in aid, He said Afghanistan is in a political and security state of crisis.  


Today's session was supposed to discuss recent insecurities, increased crime rates in Kabul and some other related issues with the Interior Ministry and National Security Directorates, but due to the absence of Acting of Interior Ministry, His absence has been criticized and it was postponed to future sessions. But members of the Senate expressed gratitude to the Acting of NDS for attending today's session.
