Fazil Hadi Muslimyar Speaker of the House of Elders met with Deputy for Parliamentary and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In this meeting, Mr. Sadiq Hussain Jabiri Ansari Deputy for Parliamentary and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran presented official invitation of Speaker of the Islamic Council of Iran to Speaker of the House of Elders and also said that the purpose of their trip was to examine the possibilities for increasing the issuance of visas for Afghan citizens and strengthening relations at various levels. He added that in order to reduce the illegal immigration of Afghans to Iran, we are planning to provide facilities for the distribution of visas to Afghans.

Deputy for Parliamentary affairs of Iran said that since the agreement on the transfer of convicts between the two countries has been signed, and the existing laws have also been reformed in which the execution of the death sentences against the Afghan prisoners is halted and expressed the hope that Iranian convicted prisoners that completed their term in Afghanistan’s prison will have a similar action. Mr. Jabri Ansari defined his country's policy that emphasizes on Afghan-led peace and ownership and called for the strengthening and expansion of parliamentary relations by bringing together two governments and nations with a common culture, and called for more parliamentary delegations visit by the two parliaments.

Speaker of the House welcomed Iran’s delegation and also appreciated the creation of a facility for Afghan citizens in the field of issuing visas and facilities for Afghan convicts in that country, saying that he will visit the Islamic Republic of Iran at an appropriate time. Speaker of the House considered important the integrity of the Islamic countries in dealing with the crises, especially the issue of ending the war in Afghanistan. He added that Islamic countries and neighboring countries should not interfere in the internal affairs of each other, but by building understanding and good cooperation, they should work to solve the existing challenges of the region's and work for the development and progress in a better way.

Speaker of the House pointed out that the Afghan people are afflicted by persistent and overwhelming wars, and that they need sincere cooperation from the countries involved in the war of Afghanistan to end the war.
