The House of Elders Declaration

The House of Elders, during the Plenary Session and the Committee Session of the House held on Tuesday, 30th November, strongly expressed their concerns and distress concerning the recent US recognition of the the Zionist State of Israel’s policy to make Jerusalem its capital. Jerusalem is a sacred place for the faith of Islam and is the location of the first Qiblah.

The Upper House believes that this change in policy is an unwarranted step which will disrupt global peace and security, especially MENA countries and will have severely negative effects in the relationship between the United States and Islamic countries moving forward.

As custodians and guardians of a Muslim nation, the Upper House has already warned the US government, a valued ally and partner, to cease support for Israel’s detrimental actions and to not officially recognize its existence. Such a policy seeks only to hurt the hearts of more than one and a half billion Muslims worldwide and will cause hate and the wrath of the populace of Afghanistan.

Mr. Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, has failed to consider the far-reaching consequences of his actions in failing to stand up for the rights of the Palestinian people and Islamic world.

The US shall take full responsibility for the consequences of its formal recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The Zionist occupation is the enemy of our Islamic nation. The Islamic countries shall not be subject to the terms of Israel and Mr. Trump. A wave of protests and unhappiness due to this woeful decision will be raised globally and will negatively affect the international relations.
